Tennis

Lansdowne prouds itself on being one of the strongest tennis clubs in Ireland, with alot of depth and a large contingent of active members of all standards. Lansdowne participates in various leagues in the Dublin area throughout the year which allow all standards to play a competitive game in singles and/or doubles. The leagues are divided into a number of classes or divisions, ensuring that the games you play are against opponents of a similar standard. In addition, Lansdowne hosts several internal semi-competitive events during each year.

When the leagues are not on there are always plenty of active members to play. Tennis is played throughout the year, come rain hail or shine! If there is pressure on courts, they are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and you are allowed to play for 1 1/4 hours. However, due to the limit on the number of members in the club, there is usually always a court available.

There are several coaches in the club catering for all standards, but if you just want to improve by yourself take a look at turbo tennis and/or mental equipement. If you have any queries regarding any aspect of competitive tennis at Lansdowne or about anything on this page contact the men's captain or the ladies' captain.
